I am in a merry mood my friends

Thanks to a combination of
NO CALCULUS + JAVA HWK LOOKING DO-ABLE + PEACH MILKSHAKE = SHAN HAPPY

Which is rare.
So lets talk about something nice. Like flowers. Sunshine. Marshmallow teddy bears dancing in heaven-town.

Or how about The Smiths song "How Soon Is Now"?

I know I know, I am not a 'real' Smiths fan, I am a 'poser' yes yes I only listen to the most popular song, not the hitherto 'hidden' records only dug up by people in The Smiths Appreciation Station...keep the abuse coming...
And it's true, I am not a huge Smiths fan, but I just can't get this song out of my head. Most hard-core Smiths fan bullock this song for not being all representative of their usual style, but who bloody cares?? Its a good song, with amazing lyrics. If you are like me (as in a Syd-Barrett-type random artistic loner, with the people skill of a ginger biscuit) then you can completely relate to this idea of a "shyness that is criminally vulgar". I love the riffs, I love all the twingly twangy guitar bits throughout. But I love the lyrics the most. Here are some excerpts:

I am the son
and the heir
of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
I am the son and heir
of nothing in particular

You shut your mouth
how can you say
I go about things the wrong way
I am human and I need to be loved
just like everybody else does

There's a club if you'd like to go
you could meet somebody who really loves you
so you go, and you stand on your own
and you leave on your own
and you go home, and you cry
and you want to die

When you say it's gonna happen "now"
well, when exactly do you mean?
see I've already waited too long
and all my hope is gone

Ok, so I have pretty much copied the whole song minus the chorus repeat.

Without getting into the whole wishy-washy emotional bits of my psych, lets just take a moment to appreciate how much you can relate to this (all you sleepless artists out there). For me its all about how shy people are labeled in the wrong way, as if they cannot deal with people.
Like if you go to a 'club' (or any public sphere for that matter), despite all the effort you make you just 'stand on your own' and you feel like a freak, and at the end you 'leave on your own' and the world crashes around you. There is an incredible rush of feelings at the words "I am human and I need to be loved, just like everybody else does"; its like begging for for some sort of attention from somebody, some sign that someone is looking at you and noticing you, or that they remember your name or that you have not been ignored along with the haziness of the background.

Morrissey would probably scoff at my pathetic analysis.

To make the hardcore Smiths fans feel even worse, I first liked this song when Love Spit Love covered it. Alright, alright, I think I hear knives being sharpened. But I loved Charmed and you can't deny that the theme song was one of the best ever.
But I truly am in love with this song in its original glory.

All right, that's it for now, my happy mood is wearing off, the milkshake is already making its way through my digestive tracts and there's more Java to look forward to (and how could the day get any better?).

I am: a robot hippy

This is me, Shan - a robot hippy.
I play discs, go to bed in my metal sheet and sing in smoking electronic fumes.
My head whirls in devilish clockworks put together with threads of non-existent jargon unimaginable to most poor souls.

Just a sketch I made a year ago in my notebook.
I love this, because it just pretty much represents my future. If you don't know what that means, then don't worry. I don't either. Well what do you expect?? I haven't slept for 2 days, of course my head is full of clockwork nightmares.

Quote of the Century

Door opens.

Professor: No uh, don't even think about coming in, don't interrupt this class.
Student: But I am sorry, I...I was with some professors -
Professor: I don't care who you were with, you could have been with God, I don't care!
[LAUGH LAUGH LAUGH, TRIPLE LOLLL *and this is not the sarcastic lol at all*]

This was in our Sunday (27th September) Calculus class. Seriously, this pretty much made everyone's despondent day.

Oven Glazed Confusion

I made this during my CMUQ orientation

This is pretty much what my facial expression looks like nowadays.
*insert sarcastic LOL here*

But I like this idea. At first it was rubbish when they asked us to paint on the ceramic tiles, because the colours were all dull and watery. But then they took all our tiles away and got them glazed in an oven (¿doughnuts?), and even the most horrible ones (like mine) looked so good.

Bob? What's this world all about then eh Bob?

Bob knows nothing.
But we all want his valuable opinion.

Hand-drawn.
The last two have been coloured in with Photoshop.

only look at this

All our so called "revolutions" are nothing but displays.

Beyond this superficial layer, there is nothing but false promises

We are all just stuck in a giant clockwork.

a well deserved sunset [after 50 degrees of skin charring]

Yes after boiling your brain in its own juices every morning (I walk...on my feet...when there are these right expensive cars floating around me), its good to come out at 5pm & find a pleasant sunset:

It was all so calm and gently breezy, with our avant-garde college building behind me (yes, it's that edgy).

This is nothing though, you should see some of the sunsets we get during winter in my town -
every single heavenly shade of purple and red imaginable merge lazily into each other, shooting veins of blood across the skies.

You just look up and see the very sky changing in front of you - miss a single minute and the orange fuses into a dense navy blue.
