So pardon me while I try to exorcise the demon out of my internet connection. I promise you all that I will catch up with your blogs a soon as I am back home.
More importantly, as I'm sure you can tell by the post title, I wanted to devote this blog post to discuss the April 2012 A to Z Blogging Challenge. "What is this new sorcery?", I hear you asking me. Well, it's a simple concept really - basically, all you have to do is blog about a topic starting from a letter of the alphabet every day during the month of April, with Sundays off. Since April 1 falls on a Sunday, that will be the day everyone starts with A. Then on 2 April, with the letter B, then C, and so on. You can pick a particular theme or freestyle, but your post must match the letter of the alphabet for that day.
If you're planning to join, you can visit the link here, and add your blog to the list attached in the post. At the same link you can also read a lot more about how the challenge works.

A month back or so, when I first heard about the challenge, I was like, "hmn, it's not really for me". But recently I have been itching to write good scientific blog posts, in a way that is simple, yet not patronising to the reader. Things that I find interesting, and things which make me feel that to die without reading about it would have been such a loss for my short organic life. And also, hopefully, things that people don't usually come across from other blogs.
So, I thought - what better way to boost my science blogging skills than by taking up this challenge? It will motivate me to research everyday for my posts, as well as introduce me to cool new bloggers.
So there we are - my central theme for the 2012 A to Z Challenge would be posts related to science/Mathematics. And before you think that I will bore the pants off you, keep in mind that I will try to keep things as fun as possible, and fill your heads with all sorts of trivia which may or may not get you laid with a member of the opposite sex.
I am still working on my full list of topics that I will be blogging about, and I will put up the list on this blog as soon as I have worked out all my Z's and X's.
I really am excited about this, and I hope you guys enjoy reading what I write.
I remember last year I participated in this. I don't work well under pressure, but it was good. Good luck.
ReplyDeletebTB what are you doing in freaking India? Spiritual dnlightment? Yoga?backpacker? Hare Rama hare krishna?
India can be very challenging I bet you already knew that. Have a wonderful time.
Yeh, I don't work well under pressure either, that's why I'm trying to get a lot of research and writing done now.
DeleteAhaha, nah, no hare rama hare krishna - just your run-of-the-mill holiday.
I can take challenging, but I can't stand pollution. Coz Mumbai is very polluted.
There are hippies in India? Huh. Like, Grateful Dead hippies or just nature loving granola hippies?
ReplyDeletePretty much the nature-loving granola hippies with blonde dreadlocks. Blonde dreadlocks for goodness sake!
DeleteHoly crap that's a lot of people. You guys could give Madonna's little black book a run for its money.
ReplyDeleteSo thanks for posting that penguin video. That may be the most adorable/hilarious thing I've seen all day. Also, let me just say that I have a very very hippyish friend on Facebook who LOVES his monthly visits to India. Something about being 10% more Buddhist there and finding his chi and backpacking. Looks like total crap to me but he seems to think he's making a 'difference in the world' by taking a picture next to some horrified Indian villager who thinks the fat American's going to kill him. So I had to laugh at this.
ReplyDeleteI knew you guys would love that penguin video. Those adorable little bastards can do such cute things! :D
DeleteOh god, I hate those fake people who have rich parents, but think that they can be all "Buddhist" or whatever, or be one with the poor people. There are so many of those people here right now! Always going to Indian slums and villages, and taking pictures of the locals like they are zoo animals :/
SHAAAN! Holy crap i haven't been visiting people's blog for a while now but so glad i'm back in the mode again. miss reading your entries :) Ahhh you're in india now? what for??
ReplyDeleteThe challenge sounds awesome, it looks something you'll be really good at. good luck!! woah that's a lot of blog out there...
